The Art Of Sowing

Like in agriculture, in the kingdom of God the seed is in its loneliest state if it is alone. It cannot survive for a long time as long it is alone. Therefore, there is a proper place for it where it must be placed so as to produce.

The concept of sowing is important to the people of God. This is the concept which if Christians adhere to it will break the backbone of poverty. In the kingdom of God you do not save by storing or keeping it for yourself but you serve by sowing.

Everyone knows that if you do not plant anything you cannot reap. This is confirmed by the saying which goes like “you cannot reap what you did not sow”. The biblical teachings are going to be of great use in this topic.

In 2 Corinthians 9 verse 6 says “He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly, he which soweth bountifully shall also reap bountifully”. This is what Paul taught the Christians at Corinth. This teaching is also relevant to us today. Try it today and see if God will not open the floodgates of heaven for your blessings.

Giving is another way of sowing or investing. I have highlighted in the beginning of this discussion that in the kingdom of God you do not save by storing.

 Many people hide behind some indisputable excuses and say that they do not have money to sow. Money is not only the seed people must sow. The men of God stresses much on sowing money because God is after things you do not want to give most. Some of those things is money.

There are many things you can sow with. You can sow by giving anything that you have. These can include all the material things that we have. Giving your time to God is one of the things you can use as a seed to God.

Giving is not a spiritual gift from God as many people say. The concept of giving must be practised by each and every one who is the child of God.

There are times when your seed speaks for you unto God. In Acts Chapter 10 Cornelious a centurion of the band called the Italian band gave much alms to the people, and pray to God always. God visited him one day and said that his prayers and alms have come into His memorial.

The list is endless. What we must bear in mind as people of God is that if we sow sparingly we shall also reap sparingly and if we sow bountifully we shall also reap sparingly.

The True Definition of Poverty

I have heard many people bragging that they are rich. As the time went on I realised that they were not true to themselves.

In actual fact, if someone have got a single house and a single car that person is poor. If you do not have something to give of feed somebody no matter how you convince yourself you are very poor.

If a person have got enough to give and feed somebody and have enough money to finance a ministry, this is fine he can be counted among the rich people.

There are so many people who have given in churches- bought keyboards, chairs and pulpits among others and want their names to be written on a plaque. This is not regarded as giving but it is advertising somebody`s name.

The bible is clear when it comes to giving. It actually says that your left hand must not know what your right hand has given. What does this mean? The answer is clear and straight forward. When you give to anybody you must not advertise it but be awakened that God who sees what you have done privately will bless you publicly.

I have seen and heard people singing that they gave such a thing to a particular church or somebody. The most painful part of it is that even the one who is given end up regretting why he/she has taken the gift.

If someone does not take a duty somewhere somehow to feed and support anyone no matter how he/she convince himself/herself poverty defines him/her.

God still speaks through vision and dreams.

The Bible reveals that in times past servants of God were given dreams for specific reasons to convey special messages to His people. Today I will comprehensively use bible scriptures as a way of illustrating and authenticating my views and ideas

While God has used this means of communication in the past and will do so again . We can get this in (Acts 2:17 and Joel 2:28). We must realize that He uses it only when the circumstances warrant.

There are some people who argue that it is not always easy to determine the origin of a vision, dream, or premonition which one might experience. They also went on to say that we must be very careful about ascribing to God any such communication—even if it is supernatural! We are warned to "test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world" (I John 4:1).

Jude warns that sometimes false ministers use dreams and visions to deceive God's people and create a following for themselves (Jude 8; see also Deuteronomy 13:1-5). We must be careful to separate such paranormal activity from the revealed truth of God.

Some visions and dreams may simply be caused by mental or physical stress or the pressures of daily life. The Bible reveals that dreams may result from an upset or overly stimulated mind (Ecclesiastes 5:3). If one has had a very troubled or busy day, he might be more likely to have vivid dreams that night. Ill health or memories of unpleasant experiences may also cause such dreams.

In situations where an unpleasant dream or vision causes distress, fear, physical sickness, or any such thing, we would advise seeking God's intervention and healing. If Satan bothers us with bad dreams, we should ask God to rebuke him (Jude 9). We should also stay close to God in prayer and Bible study so that Satan cannot bother us (James 4:7-8).

Above all God is still using dreams and visions to communicate with His children even today because He is an unchanged God. Many people have lost what God has said to them through dreams. People have to develop a habit of analysing and discern what God is telling them to do through dreams.

Christians: The People of Prayer.

On Tuesday I posted on my blog that we are made in the image and likeness of God. We are like Him and as a result we must function like Him.

In order to function like God since we are His Children and Jesus being our King, there are certain things which must be our habits. One of them is prayer. Christians- which means to be like Christ must be the people of prayer.

Jesus was our role model on how people should conduct themselves on this earth. When Jesus was living on this earth, He was a prayerful man. If you read clearly starting from Mathew up to John you will realise that Jesus spent most of His time praying than healing the sick, exorcising demons, raising the dead and doing other countless miracles.

If people can conduct some observations they can realise that people who prioritise prayer do not like to gossip, slander and scheme against other people. This is how people should gauge themselves. It clearly shows that people who like to gossip and slander are not prayerful people. This is the fact; it remains as it is regardless of whether they are people who disagree with this. If you are a person of prayer where do you get words to speak against other people? All of your words must be spent in prayer.

UNDERSTANDING THE PROPHETIC MINISTRY—PART ONE

It’s my sincere hope that most of us have read about the Biblical Prophets and of late, we happen to have been blessed with Prophets in our generation, the common ones I somehow follow closely being the Nigerian Prophet T.B Joshua and the Malawian Prophet Austin Liabunya.

To be blunt, what normally comes in the mind of many people when they hear about a Prophet and their Prophecies is that they are fake Prophets because Jesus warned us about them (Mark 13:22, 23), (cf. Matt 7:15-20).

But what many of us fail to understand is that the fact that false Prophets shall come does not mean that all Prophets will be fake or are fake. Just to reinforce this argument; it is undisputable fact that we do not stop using money when we hear that counterfeit money is in circulation. All we do is to jack up ourselves and be more careful. Anyway, “Of true Prophets Vs False Prophets,” will be a full topic for another day.

Back to our issue before hand, my honest observation is that when a Prophet opens his mouth; the reaction from members of the public is always negative. We ridicule them, we mock them and we insult them, castigate them, and embarrass them left, right and centre describing them as false Prophets.

However if I might ask the definition of a Prophet; I hope most of our responses might show that we have little knowledge about them for if we had enough knowledge about them (Prophets), we would not rush to castigate them and reduce them to non-entities just like we do.

It is against this background that I will dedicate this entry and few more entries to come to dissect and/or analyze to all and sundry the basic information about the Prophetic Ministry because I hope that it is the only way to understand Prophets and their job.

Without much ado, the million dollar question is; what is a Prophet or to put it in context; who is a Prophet?

There are at least two classical texts that demonstrate the usage of this term and its meaning in the biblical texts.

The first is Exodus 7:1-2 (cf. Exod 4:15-16 ): "Then the Lord said to Moses, See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet. You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh."

What could be clearer? A prophet is one who receives a word from God, just as Moses acted in the place of God in passing on the divine revelations he received from the Lord to his brother Aaron, now functioning as a prophet.

Moreover, a prophet is authorized to communicate this divine message to another. Thus Aaron was to function as Moses' mouthpiece.

The second classical text is Numbers 12:6-8:

"When a prophet of the Lord is among you, I reveal myself to him in visions; I speak to him in dreams. But this is not true of my servant Moses; he is faithful in all my house. With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the Lord."

In the case of Moses, vis-à-vis all other prophets, God would speak in direct conversation "face to face."

Other prophets would receive no less a revelation from God, but in their case, the means God would use to communicate his word would be the less direct, somewhat enigmatic form of dreams and visions.

To be more precise, a Prophet is a spokesperson for God. This is why it is undisputed fact that the Prophetic office is a very high office on earth. It’s superior to any office you can imagine on this earth, be it offices of the President’s of this World. These people (Prophets) are in a class of their own. They are just so very much blessed and gifted in a special way. They deserve to be respected!

So, Achikulire has a strong message to those of you who insult Prophets; be careful. Insulting Prophets is like insulting God. You can’t go scot free if you insult God and the same applies if you insult His Spokesperson(s); the Prophet(s).

Prophets are dangerous my brothers and sisters; one can even die or even invite a generational curse if you mess up with Prophets.

These people sit in a very high office. Speaking on behalf of God is not a joke my brothers and sisters! In my well considered opinion, I, Achikulire SC, would not encourage anyone to insult a Prophet. Its suicide to do so! And if you know you have been in this business of insulting Prophets. I encourage you to repent!

You need proof why it is dangerous to mess up with Prophets? Well, here we go with few cases!

But Elisha said to him, "Was not my spirit with you when the man got down from his chariot to meet you? Is this the time to take money, or to accept clothes, olive groves, vineyards, flocks, herds, or menservants and maidservants? Naaman's leprosy will cling to you and to your descendants forever." Then Gehazi went from Elisha's presence and he was leprous, as white as snow (2 Kings 5:26-27).

And sample this case below:

“Now the king had put the officer on whose arm he leaned in charge of the gate, and the people trampled him in the gateway, and he died, just as the man of God had foretold when the king came down to his house. It happened as the man of God had said to the king: "About this time tomorrow, a seah of flour will sell for a shekel and two seahs of barley for a shekel at the gate of Samaria." The officer had said to the man of God, "Look, even if the Lord should open the floodgates of the heavens, could this happen?" The man of God had replied, "You will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of it!" And that is exactly what happened to him, for the people trampled him in the gateway, and he died (2 Kings 7:17-20).

And this one too:

Prophet Elisha Mocked: 2 KINGS 2: 23—24

23 Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the way, young lads came out from the city and mocked him and said to him, "Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!"

24 When he looked behind him and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the LORD. Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore up forty-two lads of their number.

And lastly, understand carefully the straight forward words from Prophet Jeremiah below.

“Then Jeremiah said to all the officials and all the people: "The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and this city all the things you have heard. Now reform your ways and your actions and obey the Lord your God. Then the Lord will relent and not bring the disaster he has pronounced against you. As for me, I am in your hands; do with me whatever you think is good and right. Be assured, however, that if you put me to death, you will bring the guilt of innocent blood on yourselves and on this city and on those who live in it, for in truth the Lord has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing" (Jer 26:12-15).

So I, Achikulire emphasize that, surely, Prophets need not to be vilified but respected.

The Importance of Submission

The are many things that can preserve the Christianity of anybody under the sun. One of them is submission. The opposite of submission is rebellion. God does not work with rebellious people but He works with those who submit, not to Him only but even those who are above you.

If you want to check whether this is real or not look at all great man of God you can think of. If you conduct an investigation you will realise that they are all humble and submissive to their spiritual fathers and other members in the congregation. 

No matter how somebody is anointed, if he/she is not submissive he/she can go anywhere. Prophet Angel once spoke a profound statement. He said that it is amazing that those who think they have power do not like submission, but those who have got the power of God prioritise submission.

The most painful thing is that there are some pastors and teachers who have failed to submit to their leaders to the extent that they got pierced off and formed their own churches. What do you think is the future of those churches. Remember God is not a respecter of any person. We need to be careful and not attract the wrath of God.

Every Christian have to bear this in mind that God uses a men to take you to your destiny. This is the concept that has worked for me for a couple of previous years. I have checked the bible and realised that sometimes and many times God uses a men to help another man to reach his/her destiny.

Check with me in the New Testament books you will realise this. When God wanted the Ethiopian Eunuch to be hear what once Isiah prophesied he sent Philip to help him. This Eunuch ended up being baptised by Philip. The million dollar question is "Why God Himself did not dealt with this man?"

When Saul (Paul) met Jesus on his way to Damascus to prosecute brethren, after all had happened Jesus instructed Paul to go to a certain place to hear from Ananias what he shall do after. Ananias in a vision was also told to meet Paul and do what God has instructed Him. Also think of Cornelius how he was saved. God sent Peter.

After checking all the facts you will realise that submission can help you from expiring as a child of God. We need to follow the biblical men of faith on how they submitted to their leaders. This is evident that if you don not submit to anyone you are not going anywhere as a Christian. We need to be humble because God raise all those who are humble.

God created man in His own image.

God created man in His own image.

It is indisputable that God created man in His own image. This is evident in the word of God- our guide and manual as Christians. Let us open our King James Version bible on the 26^th verse of the first chapter of the bible.

When we closely look at this verse, it is evident that there was a discussion in Heaven in which we believe it was between three individuals- God the Father, Holy Spirit and Jesus. This discussion was chaired by God Himself. This is what God said to these individuals “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

By looking at the above scripture, we can see that when God had finished creating all the creatures, He realised that there was nothing like Him. As a result a meeting was set in Heaven and a man was created thereafter. Christians are not ordinary people as some people think, but we are the children of the most High God created in the His image.

Let me also take you to the most amazing verse in the bible in Psalms 82 verse 6. It reads as follows in the King James Version, “I have said, Ye are gods; and all you are children of the most High.” Wow! What an amazing scripture? I am a “god” because I am son of God.

Like a child given the birth right by nature, you are the child given the birth right by God. This means that you as Christian you can function like  your father- God. This reminds me of a sermon by Major Prophet Uebert Angel of Spirit Embassy. In his sermon he strongly emphasised that Christians have got the power to function like God.

You have been given much power by God to do great exploits under the sun for His glory. If you ask anything from God in the name of Jesus Christ it can be done for you. That’s what Jesus said in John 14 verses 13 and 14, “And whatever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do……..If you shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.”

As a Christian be glad that God created you in his own image. You are not just ordinary but you are a supernatural being. If you did not know this truth, this your time to be bold and do great things in the kingdom of God. You are a victor and a king!
